Colors of San Ildefonso (Colores de San Ildefonso) Series V, 2003 Size: 46 " W X 71 " H Materials:    Guatemalan hand-woven textiles and commercial cottons Technique:    Machine pieced and free-motion quilted Description:    I was irresistibly attracted to the neatly organized "X" shapes on the woman's blouse ('huipil') from San Ildefonso. My creative juices were flowing as I started by isolating one motif and changing its scale. Then picked out the colors from the blouse and skirt themselves, and arranged them in a pleasant analogous palette.
